
Trump announced he’s hitting all imported goods with a 15% global tariff. This comes after the Supreme Court knocked down his earlier tariffs. He first said he’d replace them with a 10% levy, but then turned around the next day and bumped it up to 15%.
That is the maximum allowed under some obscure trade law that’s never actually been used before. These tariffs kick in on Tuesday the 24th, but there’s a catch — they can only stay in place for about five months before he’d need Congress to sign off on keeping them going.
